Now through
November 2007 visitors to the Des Plaines History Center can see an
exhibit featuring Thing 1 and Thing 2 collectibles. The mischievous
characters from Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat are the collection of
Des Plaines resident Mary Thing. The collection features plush,
ornaments, greeting cards, clothing, figurines and toys related to
Thing 1 and Thing 2. The exhibit is free and can be viewed during
the History Center's regular hours, Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
and Sunday, 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
The Thing 1 and Thing 2 exhibit is part of a rotating series
called Collector's Corner which features the collections of local
residents.
Previous displays include bobble-heads, antique hangers, teddy
bears and other unique collections. If you have a collection you
would like to share, call the History Center at 847-391-5399 or
visit
online.
