Special Events: Metropolitan Square Dedication
City officials recently dedicated Metropolitan Square, the
mixed-use development in downtown Des Plaines, located off Miner
Street between River Road and Lee Street. The installation of a
bronze plaque, engraved with the names of City officials, marks the
completion of the project by the development team Joseph Freed and
Associates LLC and Tucker Development Company. Metropolitan Square
consists of 114,000 square feet of commercial space, 142
condominium/loft residences, and a 471 car structured parking
garage. Current tenants include Cheeseburger in Paradise, Panera
Bread, Pot Belly Sandwich Works, Shop and Save Marketplace, Flex
Health Club, Lee Nails, Frugal Nut & Candy, CA Clinical Associates,
Crystal’s Card Smart, Winestyles and Spa di Da.
