Special Events: School Days Off - Mapmaking
The first
School Day Off program of the new year will be held on January 15,
from 1:00 - 2:00 pm or 2:00 - 3:00 pm. Kids will get a chance to
learn about mapmaking by making a map of a place familiar to them.
They will get to make their map look "antique" and add in classic
map elements like sea monsters and mermaids. The fee for this
program is 2.00/child members, 3.00/child non-members. Call the
History Center to make a reservation.
Supported by the City of Des Plaines, the Des Plaines Park
District, and the Des Plaines Historical Society, the Des Plaines
History Center consists of three facilities: the Visitor Center, the
Kinder House, and the Fisher-Wright House. For more information
please call 847-391-5399.
