Community Garage Sale
 The City’s 4th
Annual Citywide Community Garage Sale will be during the first and
third weekends in May. Residents in zip code 60016 may have their
garage sale Friday, May 2, 2008 to Sunday, May 4, 2008. Residents in
zip code 60018 may have their garage sale Friday, May 16 to Sunday,
May 18, 2008.
Rain dates for both zip codes will be Friday, May 30, 2008 to
Sunday, June 1, 2008. It is a voluntary event and garage sale
permits will be waived for these designated dates only. Residents
will be able to display items for sale on front lawns and/or
driveways from 9:00 am to sunset. Residents may choose to
participate for one, two or three days.
Residents may donate items to charities such as Purple Heart
Veterans, 708-396-8990, AMVETS, 708-388-7800 or Salvation Army,
888-5-PICK-UP. Items for disposal must be removed until scheduled
refuse collection day. If items are placed at the curbside before
scheduled refuse collection day, residents will be in violation of
Ordinance 5-2-8. ARC Disposal will collect items at the curbside the
following week as long as items are prepared within requirements.
Garage sales before or after these dates will require a permit from
