Historical Society Presents Play "Rise and Shine"
"Rise and Shine" is a new play written and directed by Dan Scott
of Des Plaines. The play will be presented by the Des Plaines
Historical Society Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, April 11-27 at
the Fisher-Wright House, 815 Center Street in Des Plaines. Show
times are 8pm on Fridays, 7pm on Saturdays and 3pm on Sundays.
Tickets prices for adults are $15.00/evening and $13.00/afternoon.
Student tickets are $13.00/evening and $11.00/afternoon. Senior
tickets are $13.00/evening and $11.00/afternoon. Reservations are

"Rise and Shine" chronicles the struggles of a Des Plaines family
during the Great Depression and their attempts to rise above their
lot. Performed in the intimacy of the 1916 Fisher-Wright house,
"Rise and Shine" invites the audience to experience a bit of local
history as they watch the lives of the Lieber family unfold.
Supported by the City of Des Plaines, the Des Plaines Park
District, and the Des Plaines Historical Society, the Des Plaines
History Center consists of three facilities, the Visitor Center, the
Kinder House, and the Fisher-Wright House.
