National Day of Prayer
The National Day of Prayer was observed in Des Plaines as city
officials, representatives of various denominations, and residents
gathered to pray at Noon, Thursday, May 1, 2008 in front of Des
Plaines City Hall, 1420 Miner Street. The annual event in Des
Plaines has been acknowledged since 1993. (pictured above left to
right) Des Plaines resident Patty Thompson, who has been
instrumental in coordinating Des Plaines Prayer Day, addresses those
who attended the 2008 National Prayer Day Celebration in Des Plaines
as Marty Moylan, 2nd Ward Alderman, Des Plaines Mayor
Tony Arredia, Father John P. Smyth, Notre Dame High School, and
Ester Ruth Reid, Bethesda Worship Center, listen.
