Relay For Life
 The American Cancer Society hosted the 6th
Annual Des Plaines Relay for Life, May 16 & 17, 2008, at Maine West
High School. Hundreds attended the American Cancer Society’s
signature event, which involves teams walking or jogging overnight
while raising money through pledges. City of Des Plaines Employees
sponsored a team named "Destined to Relay" and raised over $1500.
Des Plaines Public Library Employees raised over $5,000. This year’s
Relay resulted in over $40,000 being raised overall. (pictured left
to right) Des Plaines Resident Chuck Miller, Community Health Nurse
Madeline May and Sue Friedman, Village of Niles nurse, do their part
to help raise money at the Des Plaines Relay for Life by selling
nachos Friday night at the Relay.
 Many community groups assisted at the
American Cancer Society’s Des Plaines Relay last Friday night.
