Police Youth Club Rules and Regulations

All members must agree to support and conform to the by-laws of this club as voted upon by its membership.

All applicants and members must be between the ages of 12 and 17 and must be a resident of the City of Des Plaines and be residing within the incorporated limits of the City of Des Plaines. If a member should move out of the city limits of Des Plaines while he/she is already a member in good standing, he/she may remain a member for the remainder of that year. If you belong to more than one center, dues will be collected at one center and waived at the other. A separate application must be filled out and on file at each center you attend.

Every member must sign his/her name in the roll book at each meeting.

The club dues, which include a Youth Club T-Shirt, are $10.00 a year, payable to the club director when the application is submitted for acceptance.

All members must agree to accept all requests and details issued by their elected club officers or adult supervisors regarding the club rules and regulations.  Failure to do so can result in the member being taken before the entire group of club officers for suspension.  Your officers will be fair but strict in enforcing these rules and regulations.  If the rules are not enforced, the entire group may lose the right to use the facilities because of a few.

Street shoes will not be permitted on the gym floor. All members must wear gym shoes or socks.

Members may be suspended from the club for any of the following offenses:

  1. Smoking anywhere inside or outside the facilities.
  2. Using any part of the school building other than the gym or locker room.
  3. Not practicing good behavior or sportsmanship at the club.
  4. Creating a disturbance upon entering or leaving the school.
  5. Entering the locker room without permission when the club is in session.
  6. Refusing to accept reasonable requests and details issued by club officers or adult supervisors.
  7. Entering the school building before 7:00 pm or leaving the school building before 8:30 pm unless permission is granted by an adult person in charge.
