MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS
HELD IN ROOM 101, DES PLAINES CIVIC CENTER,
MONDAY, JUNE 9, 2008

CALL TO ORDER: The Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Des Plaines, Illinois, was called to order by Mayor Anthony W. Arredia at 6:46 p.m. in Room 101, Des Plaines Civic Center on Monday, June 9, 2008.

ROLL CALL: Roll call indicated the following aldermen present: Beauvais, Murphy, Higgason, Brookman, Walsten, Smith and Argus. Aldermen Moylan was absent.

Also present were City Manager Bajor, Police Chief Prandini, Director of Community & Economic Development Conlan and Acting Director of Finance Wisniewski.

EXECUTIVE SESSION:

Moved by Murphy, seconded by Walsten, to go into Executive Session, to discuss acquisition of real property. Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 7-Beauvais, Murphy, Higgason,

Brookman, Walsten, Smith, Argus

NAYS: 0-None

ABSENT: 1-Moylan

Motion declared carried.

The City Council recess at 6:47 p.m.

The City Council reconvened at 7:47 p.m.

Roll call indicated the following aldermen present: Beauvais, Murphy, Higgason, Brookman, Walsten, Smith, Argus.

ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY/POLICE STATION:

Moved by Beauvais, seconded by Murphy, to concur with consensus in Executive Session that the City not acquire property located at 800 Northwest Highway (Littlefuse) as a future site for a new police facility; and Staff be authorized to proceed as directed reqarding acquisition of real property for a new police facility. Upon roll call, the vote was:

AYES: 7-Beauvais, Murphy, Higgason,

Brookman, Walsten, Smith, Argus

NAYS: 0-None

ABSENT: 1-Moylan

Motion declared carried.

ADJOURNMENT:

Moved by Murphy, seconded by Argus, that the Special meeting of the City Council adjourn. Motion declared carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
