The first week of May has officially been designated "Elk’s Youth Week in Des Plaines." The members of the local Elk’s Club have traditionally designated this week by having the Des Plaines Mayor sign a proclamation honoring "America’s Junior Citizens for their accomplishments." This year Des Plaines Elks visited the office of Des Plaines Mayor Tony Arredia to accept the proclamation.
