2007 Press Release: LongHorn Steakhouse Opens a New Location in Des Plaines

Longhorn Steakhouse in Des Plaines is officially open for business! Local officials recently cut the red ribbon marking the grand opening of the new Longhorn, located at 1470 E. Touhy Avenue. The restaurant offers a diverse menu in a western setting. Longhorn is owned by Darden Restaurants. LongHorn Steakhouse, a division of RARE Hospitality International, Inc., announced the opening of a new location in Des Plaines on Monday, November 26th. Local community leaders celebrated the arrival of the new LongHorn Steakhouse during pre-opening charity events on Saturday, November 25th. Contributions from beverage sales for the evening supported the Healthy Community Foundation, a local organization that strives to provide support programs to handicapped individuals.

"We are very proud to be a part of this community and feel very honored to continue to support local charities such as the support we were able to lend to the community, " said Joe Reiser, Managing Partner for the Des Plaines LongHorn Steakhouse. "Our staff has worked hard to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for the Des Plaines community, and we look forward to serving them."

The new LongHorn Steakhouse is located at 1470 East Touhy Avenue, next to the O’Hare Radisson Hotel. The restaurant’s atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the artwork and tasteful Western artifacts provide a comfortable place for guests to relax and unwind after a long day. LongHorn Steakhouse is a casual dining, full-service restaurant that serves lunch and dinner, offering a wide variety of refreshing drinks from a full liquor, wine and premium beer selection. While they are recognized for their 25 years of serving tender, juicy steaks they also feature a broader menu consisting of fresh salmon, shrimp, chicken, ribs and prime rib.
