2008 Press Release: New Year's Eve Supporters Thanked By Commission

For immediate release
February 29, 2008

The Des Plaines Special Events Commission is still busy thanking their supporters for helping host the 2007/2008 New Year’s Eve On The Plaza, held downtown Des Plaines. Last week New Year’s Eve Chairman Jim Wozny, accompanied by fellow Commissioner Mary Klabacha who took photographs, presented plaques to major sponsors of the New Year’s Eve event. The event, attended by thousands and offering free entertainment, food, and activities, was initiated by Mayor Tony Arredia to promote a non-alcoholic family oriented New Year’s Eve. Sponsorship donations from local businesses and organizations help make the event a reality each year.
