
2008 Press Release: Police Chief Recognized by SAR
For immediate release
June 3, 2008
Des Plaines Police Chief James Prandini was
recently recognized by the National Society of the Sons of the
American Revolution (SAR) by being awarded the Law Enforcement
Commendation Medal. The award is presented in recognition of
outstanding achievement and dedication to the maintenance of law and
order. SAR is a historical, educational and patriotic non-profit
corporation that seeks to "maintain and extend the institutions of
American freedom, an appreciation for true patriotism, a respect for
national symbols, and the value of American citizenship…" The award
was made at Des Plaines City Hall by SAR Official Burton Showers.
Other police personnel who had also been the recipient of the award
were present when Prandini was given the honor. (pictured above left
to right) SAR Official Burton Showers, Vernon Hills Police Chief
Mark Fleischhauer, Des Plaines Police Chief James Prandini, retired
Morton Grove Police Chief George Incledon, and Palatine Police Chief
John Koziol pose for a photograph in the Des Plaines City Council
Chambers when the award was presented.
