2008 Press Release: Police Department Pen Pals
For immediate release
June 12, 2008

The Police Department recently teamed up with Ms. Lori Jensen's
4th grade class from North School (20 students) this year. Police
wrote letters back and forth during the school year. The students
were escorted by police officers as they walked from North School to
the Police Station to meet their pen pals on a recent Saturday. The
students and Police chatted for a while and then were given a
complete tour of the Police Department. The students had presents
for the officers and each student was given a police tee shirt that
said PEN PAL 2008. The officers and the students all had a wonderful
time. Police Commander Timothy Veit and Ms. Jensen plan on
continuing this great program next year with her new class of
