2010 Press Release: Marines Display DP Flag in Iraq

 Des Plaines Mayor Martin J.
Moylan recently received an email correspondence from US Marine
Andrew Darrey, Des Plaines resident and Maine West High School
graduate, deployed to Iraq. Several months ago Mayor Moylan
presented Darrey with a Des Plaines flag to take with him overseas.
The recent email correspondence sent to the Mayor included a
photograph of Darrey and fellow Marine Nicholas McGahan holding the
Des Plaines flag. Ironically, McGahan graduated from Maine West High
School a year prior to Darrey. Both had been in the fine arts
department in high school. According to the email correspondence
sent t the Mayor, Darrey expects to be back in Des Plaines before
