The Office of the City Attorney is the legal advisor to the City and advises the Mayor, City Council, and City Staff on all legal matters in which the interests of the City are involved.The Office of the City Attorney is the legal advisor to the City and advises the Mayor, City Council, and City Staff on all legal matters in which the interests of the City are involved. The City Attorney’s Office prepares all City Ordinances and Resolutions that come before the City Council for consideration. We also draft and/or review many contracts, agreements, leases, and other documents pertaining to City matters, and represent the City before various administrative agencies and courts. The City Attorney David Wiltse and Legal Secretary Mary Utt may be reached by calling 847-391-5303.

The City Attorney’s Office is not able to represent individuals in any legal matters which includes giving legal advice to citizens. However, our office is always available to assist residents/citizens in contacting the proper department or agency regarding any issues residents/citizens may have.
