Decks
- A permit application must be completed and brought in with two
(2) current Plats of Survey indicating all permanent and accessory
structures.
- Location of deck must be shown, with dimensions, on Plat of
Survey.
- Plan of deck indicating size and relationship to existing
residence must be shown, locating existing or new doors or access
to deck and hand railings.
- Plan of foundation supports (piers) must be shown with size of
piers and spacing. Details of anchoring supports structure to
piers must also be included.
- Sections and details of deck construction must be indicated,
to include size and materials shown for decking, joists, beams,
attachment to residence and height of railing and/or handrails.
- Sample drawings attached.
- Decks may not be closer to side property line than 5’ 0".
- Privacy fences or screenings along decks cannot exceed six
feet (6’) in height when measured from grade.
- A minimum of two (2) inspections is required: an initial pier
or foundation depth and locations inspection and a final
inspection once the work is completed.

is treated individually and certain other requirements may apply.

determination can be made.
Any exceptions to the above may require a variation.
