Garage Sale (Occasional Sale) Permits

Any person conducting a garage sale, basement sale, house sale, etc. on premises zoned or used for residential purposes must apply and obtain an occasional sale permit from the Finance Department.  Occasional sales are permitted for 3 consecutive days between 9:00 am and sunset each day.  Not more than 2 sales shall be conducted on the same premises within any calendar year except 3 such sales may be conducted if the person is moving or vacating the premises.  Permits are $6 each.  No sign advising of the sale shall be posted on telephone poles, light standards, street signs or the City right-of-way.  Only signs placed on a stake in the property lawn shall be permitted and must be removed by 6:00 pm on the last day of the permitted sale.
