 The Des Plaines Police Department Community
Action Team was established to handle specific complaints/problems
that arise within the City, as well as improve public relations
through community oriented programs. The C.A.T. Unit is an extension
of the Traffic Unit run by Commander Timothy Veit. Duties consist of
bicycle patrol, public relations through various community programs,
and selective police enforcement. Some of the programs the C.A.T.
Unit organizes are:
