Leaf Collection

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR DES PLAINES RESIDENTS ONLY!!!

INFORMATION NOT FOR UNINCORPORATED DES PLAINES RESIDENTS.

Residents are asked to rake leaves…

… into the street by 6:00 am on each scheduled zone collection. Crews will not collect any leaves that are not properly placed by 6:00 am. Please be sure that drains are kept clear of leaves to guard against flooding.  Residential landscapers must also have leaves out accordingly.

… into 1 neat continuous row, 1 foot (12 inches) from the curb. Make sure only leaves are raked into the row. Rows that include grass, branches, brush, rocks and other debris will not be collected.

Street parking will be prohibited on the day of collection from
6:30 am until leaves are removed.

Collection 5 is the last scheduled collection.

Alternate Leaf Disposal

Residents may bring leaves only (containers and bags must be emptied into the pile) to Public Works, 1111 Joseph Schwab Road, Monday-Friday (Oct. 22 to Dec. 7) from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Residents may bring leaves only (containers and bags must be emptied into the pile) to Public Works, 1111 Joseph Schwab Road, on Saturday, Nov. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 1 from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

ARC Disposal will collect leaves in 2-ply yard waste paper bags or 32-gaollon containers marked for yard waste (12 inch red X) at curbsides until December 7, 2007.  Yard waste 2-ply bags and containers must not exceed 50 pounds.  No plastic bags.

What Zone Do I Live In?

Refuse day determines your Zone. If you are collected on Mondays, you are in Zone 1. If your refuse collection day is on Tuesdays, you are in zone 2. If Wednesday is your refuse collection, you are in Zone 3, etc. Please follow all Zone schedules to ensure appropriate collections.
