Holiday Lighting Ceremony

Friday, December 2

Metropolitan Square, Des Plaines

Festivities start at 4:00 P.M.

with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 P.M.

Hand-decorated holiday trees, live entertainment, and special guest appearances from The Minion will be sure to put a smile on your face.

Of course, Santa Claus and his elves will be there - adding your holiday wishes to his list.

Our Mitten Tree will be ready for your donations of new hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves and the Des Plaines Self-Help Closet & Food Pantry will be accepting non-perishable food donations.

Schedule of events:

4:00 P.M. - Students and organizations decorate Holiday trees provided by the Des Plaines Optimist Club.

4:30 P.M. - Santa arrives in grand style with Mayor Matt Bogusz's Annual Poster Contest Winners.

4:45 P.M. - Santa is ready to hear your wish list.

6:30 P.M. - Mayor Bogusz and Elected Officials prepare to lead the countdown to "Light Up" Des Plaines for the Season.
