March 30, 2020

Monday March 30, 2020

On Monday, April 6, 2020, the contractor is scheduled to close Lee Street at River Road. Northbound and southbound River Road will remain open. Motorists can utilize Elk Boulevard as a means to travel from River Road to Lee Street (and Lee Street to River Road).

The right turn spur lane from eastbound Rand Road to southbound Lee Street will be closed on April 6, 2020. Motorists eastbound on Rand Road can still access Lee Street via River Road - Elk Boulevard - Lee Street.

Harding Avenue will also be closed at Lee Street on April 6, 2020. Motorists should access Harding Street from the west.

These closures will allow construction of the remaining storm sewer, water main and concrete pavement in this area.

Traffic in the area will be affected. Expect major delays. If possible, use an alternate route.

Please be alert and drive with caution through the construction area. Trucks and large equipment are being used. Signs are installed, and flaggers are being used to help route vehicles safely through the construction area.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience during the construction.

March 23, 2020

Monday March 23, 2020

Starting Tuesday, March 24, 2020, traffic will be restricted from making a right turn from southbound River Road onto westbound Elk Boulevard to access Lee Street. Southbound River Road traffic should follow the detour signs and use Perry Street to access Elk Boulevard and Lee Street. This restriction will last for approximately 1-2 weeks, depending on weather. This restriction will allow the contractor to construct the new pavement with one less construction stage.

All other traffic movements will be allowed at the Elk Boulevard intersection.
